When Shoshanna moved to New York City her plan was to design lighting for theatre and opera. What started as a brief internship for an architectural lighting designer became a new career path as she discovered the satisfaction of bringing light to the places where people live and work.
Shoshanna has worked in sales and manufacturing as well as having been privileged to work with some of New York’s oldest and most respected lighting design firms. Her multifaceted career has taught her to envision bold solutions to clients’ needs and to move those solutions forward to realization.
Currently serving as the President of the New York City Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES), Shoshanna is also an active member of the Lighting Controls Technical Committee which develops nationally recognized standards for lighting control.
She is a Professional Member of the International Association of Lighting Designers (IALD) and is among the first professionals in the world to earn the certification, CLD, having demonstrated mastery in seven domains of lighting design as established by the CLD Global organization and the IALD.
